Thoughts on the Journey

This week has been utterly weird. I don't have any classes or work until Sunday night, which seems like I should be wonderfully relaxed and getting things done.

Sadly this isn't quite true, I've ended up with a bizarre sleeping pattern all this week. I'll wake up around 6:30 or so in the morning and panic thinking I've slept through the day. I get up and start turning on lights and then look at my cell phone which has am and pm as opposed to my watch and go, oh its morning. Then I go back to sleep and tend to wake up around 1 am. This has meant that I don't feel really rested and I'm just sore in lots of places, so my normal round of walking is tiring. I think a lot of this is I've been so wound up with stress that its taking me a while to truly relax, but I'm also still worried about finding an internship and getting my place ready for my parents to visit.

So tomorrow I'm going to wake up and go do lots of useful errands, Sunday I pick up a bookcase and work, Tuesday I get to join a tabletop game and then my parents arrive around Wednesday or Thursday. Also I'm working my way through all the awesome prompts and I'm still open for new ones over here.

I picked up this icon not long after I started watching Pushing Daisies, which is all dynastessa's fault. I fell in love with Ned and Chuck and found this icon which makes me smile.


I love baking a lot and don't do it enough. At some point, I decided I needed a baking icon and found this one. The composition is lovely and it just makes me smile.


I made this icon not long after I started playing Sameth, because he makes mechanical things. saphyria linked me to this amazing steampunk site and I found a mechanical frog, which he makes in canon so I had to icon it. I really love this icon, because its just charming and always makes me smile.


I adore Up so much and made this icon. Now its become a good way of showing how I feel in graduate school. I can see where I want to get but there's a lot in the way.


Bones is the best and I love Karl Urban's Bones. I realized at some point that I didn't have a lot of there's something wrong with you icons and I found this one and felt happy. I don't use it that often because its not really my style of commenting.


I found this icon on a great post of t-shirt icons and I love the Winchester boys so snagged it.


This is Professor Kirke from Narnia and he is one of my favorite mentor characters in literature, because he's odd and enjoys it. I picked this one up for the same reason as the Bones' one, I needed an icon to convey WTF.


doihearawaltz made this lovely image of Mathieu Amalric and I love the joy he has behind the camera. Its my sometimes I take pictures icon.


I call this icon Maeve since she looks rather otherworldly to me. Sadly I don't use this one very often but I think its beautiful.


The message of this icon is actually more for me. Its the one I use when I feel like I'm tangling myself up with silly nonsense about how I should be. I found it from a link on 14_valentines.


When Jane first entered the Bar, she was accompanied by Tom Lefroy and they met Captain Ryan who's a werewolf. In his narration, he noted that she was the Alpha and Tom was clearly her Beta. I asked if anyone would make me some icons with Jane as an Alpha, this is my favorite one. She just looks so smug and sure of herself.


bookelfe made me a set of icons not long after I finally made this journal paid and went wow I have space. The goddess is apparently Demeter, which I didn't realize when she made it. Its one of my most hopeful and simple icons.


I adore Astaire and Rogers and when I was in high school and middle school watched almost all of their films. When I was searching for icons for this journal, I found this icon and had to grab it. It captures why I love dancing and them so well, its just joyful. Someday I will find myself a man who can make me laugh like that.


Atonement is one of the breakiest movies that I have ever seen in my life. I don't like MacEwan's story at all, I think its selfish and focuses on the wrong people. The movie on the other hand was beautiful and inspired me to write the story of Will's hanging, which is still one of the things I"m most proud of writing. Also the movie provided me with some amazing icons of James MacAvoy, this one is his back walking through a field of poppies. I tend to use this for serious posts and the horrors of the world.


I fell utterly in love with the new Trek movie, but then I always watched Star Trek: TNG when it was actually on TV. One of my favorite things about the movie was how they felt like a crew. So when I was looking for icons of the film, I found this one and just went, yes, that's it. Also I love this icon because it captures what friends are really for; some days you don't get along but you're always there for each other.
